AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS MEETING MINUTES May 6, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Al San Souci.
The Post 62 Riders chaplain, Peg Cuozzo offered the opening prayer.
Roll call of officers: All officers were present.
There were 37 members in attendance.
Motion to accept minutes from the April 1st meeting was made by Victor Whitney and seconded by Peggy Cuozzo. Motion passed.
Prospective member were introduced – Dave Mc Clelland and Bob Biarnese. Motion was made by Steve Garza to accept these new members and was seconded by Mary Ann San Souci. Motion passed.
Vice President Ron Spirlock reminder riders to stay safe and ride at their own speed.

REPORTS:
Treasurer: JR Rotchford gave the report. A motion was made by Jim McCrady to accept the treasurer report as read. Victor Whitney seconded the motion. Motion passed.
JR mentioned that only $90.00 in addition to your 2008 dues would purchase Life Membership and benefit the Riders group.
Sergeant at Arms: No report
Road Captain: Glenn Quigg mentioned that the ride to Prescott was a success in spite of a flat tire and fun repairs. May 10th is the ride to Trevor Brown High School for the ROTC Color Guard presentation. This will be a thank you for the money we donated for their trip to the National where they finished with a proud 4th place. Meet at legion 8 a.m. with kick stands up at 8:30 a.m.

Chaplain: No report.
Unfinished Business: A motion was made by Ron Spirlock and seconded by Bill Cuozzo that we donate $4,000 to pay for the security lights that are now up in the parking area around the Legion. Motion passed.
New Business:
The steak night volunteers will now pay $5.00 for a steak dinner to help with the cost of the meal.
The riders last breakfast will be May 11th and Al San Souci will let the post know that we will no longer take part in the breakfasts for the coming season.
We will continue to do the spaghetti dinners.

Upcoming Rides:
Al San Souci is planning a trip to Oatman with a over night stay in Kingman. The ride will leave the post on the 17th and return on the 18th. Check the website for exact times of departure.

Good of the Riders:
We received a thank you letter from Nadine Ruehs for the money we donated to the West Valley Child Crisis Center.
On behalf of the Ladies Auxiliary, Sherry Bowars wrote a note to thank us for the donation to the Girls and Boys State.
Larry and Debbie Gates thanked us for our continued support.
Al San Souci reminded the Legion members of the upcoming post elections.
Glenn St John and Steve Garza told the members that they have a connection to get free firewood and Karon Quigg will write a letter to the proper place to get that wood. Larry Mitchell will be able to store the wood till we find a need for it.
A motion was made by Karon Quigg to pay cost of supplies to have Mary Ann San Souci make flowers for the ladies to wear at the Mother’s Day breakfast that the riders are serving. Susan Catone seconded the motion and it carried.
The riders donated $411.79 from their tip money for April to the Military Support Group.
Pat Higgins made a motion that the meeting be adjourned and
Larry Mitchell seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:45.
